Arnold Elementary - Coding ,Game Design,Drone and Robot Programming Winter 2019
Starts Wednesday September 18, 2019 ( 7 weeks ) ( 1 hour / week )
Time : 2:20p - 3:20pm
Place: Room 35
Techakids offers our young students an introductory course in the following subjects using Visual Language Programming ( VPL ) :
Computer coding using Visual Programming Language ( VPL )
With VPL, you can program your own interactive stories, games, and animations — and share your creations with others in the online community. VPL helps young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively — essential skills for life in the 21st century.
VPL is designed especially for ages 8 to 16, but is used by people of all ages. Millions of people are creating VPL projects in a wide variety of settings, including homes, schools, museums, libraries, and community centers.
Students are learning with VPL at all levels (from elementary school to college) and across disciplines (such as math, computer science, language arts, social studies).
Techakids Computer Programming classes give students an opportunity to learn mathematical and computational ideas that are built into the VPL experience. As students create programs, they learn core computational concepts such as iteration, loops, functions, variables and conditionals. They also gain an understanding of important mathematical concepts such as coordinates, variables, and random numbers.
We will also introduce Python and other programming languages.
We will use computer coding to control robots and drones.
